Startup Mantra: Improving access to healthcare

DK Health Access Foundation, a for-profit social enterprise, aims to improve healthcare access in India by leveraging technology and providing information about government healthcare schemes to beneficiaries. The organization has developed a mobile app that allows hospitals to enter information about eligible schemes, while volunteers help beneficiaries navigate the system. The foundation is currently focusing on the ophthalmology domain and plans to onboard 1,000 eye hospitals across India. They aim to reach 30 lakh (3 million) beneficiaries by 2024-25 and are integrating artificial intelligence into their technology platform to facilitate operations.

MSEDCL files police complaint against PMC engineer

The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company has filed a police complaint against a Pune Municipal Corporation engineer for holding two female technicians hostage over unpaid bills. The engineer denies all charges and accuses the company's employees of harassment.

Lalit was asked to pay the outstanding amount online so that the power supply could be restored immediately however he refused to pay the said amount online and asked the technicians to accept a cheque instead. (REPRESENTATIVE PIC)

Pune Metro ridership touches 9,61 lakh during Ganesh festival
