U.P. govt to expedite 2100 tube-well projects in 62 dists

U.P.’s rain deficit pegged at 16%; some districts may receive a few spells

The monsoon has withdrawn from parts of Rajasthan so far, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Friday.

Set up body for state capital region with HQ in Lucknow soon: Yogi

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the formation of the State Capital Region Development Authority (SCRDA) in Uttar Pradesh. The SCRDA is expected to be formed within three months and will oversee the planned development of Lucknow and other districts in the State Capital Region. Adityanath also emphasized the need for long-term urban development plans that focus on investment and employment. He instructed officers to expedite the preparation of master plans for various cities and take strict action against builders who violate the rules.

U.P.: More than half of Prayagraj population depends on free ration, show govt data

Over half of Prayagraj district's population relies on free ration provided by the government through its fair price shops, according to government data. There are over 1,000 government fair price ration shops in the district for over 10.60 lakh card holders. These ration cards include eligible households and Antyodaya card holders. A total of 44.06 lakh units of ration are being given on these cards. The district's population was shown to be around 76 lakh in the 2022 UP assembly elections.

U.P. scholarship scam: ED attaches properties worth 2.84 crore

The Enforcement Directorate has provisionally attached properties worth ₹2.84 crore in a scholarship scam in Lucknow. The scam was allegedly masterminded by two brothers who owned Hygia Group of Colleges. The ED had earlier arrested the owners and a close aide in connection with the fraud. An international para-cricketer was also arrested for his involvement in the fraud.

Bhraman path to connect Saryu with Ram temple in Ayodhya

The Uttar Pradesh government has approved the construction of Bhraman Path, a road project in Ayodhya that will connect the Saryu with the Ram temple. The project is similar to the Kashi Vishwanath corridor in Varanasi. The state government has allocated ₹24 crore for the project, and the e-tendering process will be used to invite agencies for execution. The road will provide a more convenient route for devotees to reach the Ram temple. Additionally, a lotus fountain project is also planned for Ayodhya, which will be completed by the end of next year.
