Delhi govt asks pubs, restaurants to get excise licence renewed by Oct 5

The Delhi government has extended the 2021-22 excise policy for another six months, urging businesses such as hotels, clubs, and restaurants to renew their licenses by October 5. The extension comes with a request for policy stability from traders.

New norms for DG sets in Delhi-NCR to come into effect from Oct 1

Diesel generator (DG) sets above 19kW will only be allowed to operate in the NCR if they have been retrofitted with emission control devices or dual fuel kits.

The CAQM regulations state that DG sets below 19 kW in power, or generator sets running on LPG, natural gas, biogas, propane or butane, do not require retrofitting, and will also not be restricted during the Grap period. (HT Archive)

Delhi jewel heist: Cops in Bengal to trace missing employee

Delhi Police team sent to West Bengal to trace employee of Umrao Singh Jewellers who went on leave before a heist where ornaments worth ₹20-25 crore were stolen. Investigators have been unable to contact the employee and are unsure if he had any involvement in the theft. Delhi PG fire: MCD orders survey to check for violations

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has started a survey of all paying guest accommodations in the Civil Lines zone after a fire broke out in a women's PG accommodation. MCD will focus on the norms of the Delhi Master Plan 2021 and the height of buildings during the survey. There are no specific norms for operating a PG facility in residential areas and the corporation does not issue PG licenses. MCD has said that if the height of the PG building is more than 9m and accommodates more than 20 people, a fire NOC is mandatory.
